Dorscht, David (1949-2017)
David Dorscht passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Grand River Hospital (ICU) at the age of 68. Beloved husband of Helga Dorscht (nee Schneider) for 43 years. Dear father of Andrew Dorscht and his wife Maggie and Lisa Brenton and her husband Victor. Special grandfather (Opi) to Izabella, Alivia, Nicholas, Lucas, Elaina and Emily. David is survived by his brothers William and Roy Dorscht, sister Sharon Dorscht, sisters-in-law Marianne Brodrecht, Birgit Schneider and Gisela Wood (Stan), brother-in-law Joe Schneider (Bonnie) and nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his mother Pearl and father Herbert Dorscht, and nephew Collin Brodrecht. David retired in 2014 from Freshco in Fergus where he was the produce manager for many years. He will be missed by many co-workers and friends of the family. Special thank you to the amazing health care team in the ICU at Grand River Hospital for their care and support.
David's family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Sunday May 14, 2017 and from 9:30-10:15 am on Monday May 15, 2017 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Monday, May 15, 2017 at 10:30 am. Interment Woodland Cemetery. Reception to follow at Henry Walser Funeral Home. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
